How it works
Each calculator does one thing and does it properly. Enter your
measurements, press calculate, and you get the result with the workings: where
every number comes from, which assumptions were used, and how much material to
actually buy, rounded up to whole packs and pieces.
Everything is calculated in your browser. No accounts, no sign-up, and your
inputs are never sent to a server.
Why these answers differ from other sites
A lot of online calculators oversimplify. We try to do the opposite:
- Joints count. With tiles and bricks, a unit takes up its own size plus the joint,
and that changes how many fit per square metre.
- A cup of flour and a cup of sugar do not weigh the same. Every ingredient has its own
documented density.
- An air conditioner's cooling capacity is not its electricity consumption. Without an
efficiency figure you cannot know what it costs to run, and we do not invent one.
- Product coverage varies. Every debatable value is editable and the assumption behind it
is written down.
What we do not do
DomusCalc works out quantities for planning and buying. It does not replace a
structural calculation, an installation design or professional advice when the
job calls for it.
