Cookie policy

The site sets no cookies at all, first-party or third-party.

Current situation

DomusCalc sets no cookies. It stores nothing in your browser by any other route either: no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no local databases and no service workers. There is no analytics and no tracking of any kind.

That is why you will not see a consent banner: there would be nothing to consent to, and a banner that does nothing is just an annoyance. European law requires permission to store or read information on your device; here nothing is stored and nothing is read.

Typefaces are now served from this domain

The site's two typefaces, Bricolage Grotesque for headings and Instrument Sans for the interface, used to come from Google Fonts. That meant your browser fetched the files from a Google server and, as with any web request, your IP address went with it.

Not any more. Both are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which expressly allows redistribution, so they are now hosted on domuscalc.com and the design is unchanged. The upshot is that opening a DomusCalc page makes no third-party request at all.

When advertising is switched on

There is no advertising today: the slots are empty and no ad script loads. Google AdSense does use cookies to serve and measure ads, so before it is enabled three things will happen, in this order: a certified consent manager will be installed for visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland; this page will list which cookies they are, what they do and how long they last; and only then will the advertising tags load.

Managing cookies

Even though this site sets none, every browser lets you view, block and delete the cookies you do have from its privacy settings.

How to check for yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to the network tab and reload any page: every request goes to domuscalc.com. In the storage tab, the cookie list is empty.
